Shahryar Khaliq, DMD Endodontist
Maryland endodontist Shahryar Khaliq, DMD, specializes in diagnosing and treating problems with the soft pulp inside teeth. When an injury or infection reaches the pulp, it can cause a painful toothache. Root canal treatment removes the damaged pulp, eliminates the pain, and saves the natural tooth, avoiding the need for an extraction.
Dr. Khaliq is an expert at complex root canals and other endodontic procedures. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of Maryland at College Park and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in Endodontics from University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He is licensed in Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C.
Dr. Khaliq has received several awards from the American Association for Dental Research, the University of Pittsburgh, and other organizations. He has had several articles published in dental journals and has presented multiple times at the American Association of Endodontists and International Association for Dental Research annual sessions.
